Vikram Rathi grew up training in his uncle's mitti akhara outside Sonipat — bricks for plates, neem-tree pull-ups, hour-long warm-ups before anyone touched a weight. He represented Haryana in powerlifting through college, NSNIS-certified in 2012, and spent six years coaching at three Delhi gyms before he got tired of watching good lifters get injured by bad programming.
Akhara Strength opened in 2014 in a basement in Lajpat Nagar with twelve founding members — half of them his old college lifting friends. We moved to our current 14,000 sq ft Saket facility in 2018. The discipline is Indian. The programming is global. Both are non-negotiable.

PT at Akhara is not "watch the trainer demonstrate while you guess". Every session begins with movement check, ends with a written log, and contributes to a periodised programme the coach builds for you.
1-hour sessions, capped at 4 PT clients per coach per day so attention stays sharp. Buy as a pack — sessions never expire while your membership is active.
